Comparing and analysing Essay Example for Free
Comparing and analysing Essay The most obvious difference between The Times and The Mirror is the area, the Times is the size of two A3 pieces of paper and the Mirror is only an A3. Tabloids were invented around the 1950s, (a lot more recent than the broadsheet) and are a lot easier to read in tight places, such as busy London trains. The age of the newspaper can be detected in the newspaper name, for example in the Times there is an old-looking font for the name, and an aged logo with Latin on, a classic language. Tabloids smaller capacity also has an effect on the number of words they are physically able to put on a page. Even so, the editors of tabloids, such as the Mirror, over come this slight problem by using tiny font, however, the font is exactly the same size as it is in a broadsheet. A broadsheet uses a wide variety of vocabulary, about 2000-3000 different words; they use very sophisticated English to make the newspaper look as if its sophisticated and refined, while a tabloid uses something of 1000 different words. They do this so they attract their target audience, broadsheets for the supposed intelligent, well-educated public and tabloids for the laid-back part of the public. Also, because of their target audience and volume of the actual newspaper, tabloids are generally cheaper than broadsheets. The Times was 90p and the Mirror was only 45p. The tabloid has a lot more pictures and colour than the broadsheet, but the broadsheet has a lot more writing so I think they should be around the same price, however, prices are not just about the volume or the colour of the newspaper. Broadsheets cost more than tabloids because theyre making a point to their target audience, broadsheets are selling quality whereas tabloids are selling popularity, so the broadsheet sells for more to suggest in depth, truer stories than those of the tabloid. Controversially, the tabloid lowers its prices to suggest good reputation and better prices, this also makes sense if you think of the actual size of each page. If you look at the front page of the mirror, you can easily see that 90% of it is simply pictures, advertisements and two huge, bold headlines. The masthead The Mirror is bold and colour is reversed out, this is so the readers attention will first be drawn to the masthead and the words newspaper of the year below it. In the times, 30% of the front page is advertisements, headlines and pictures. The Mirror has only 3 miniature columns, the rest of the front page is advertising what is actually in the newspaper, for example, Shane Richie, exclusive: the day I wanted to kill myself this is a huge headline accompanied by a large picture of Shane Richie and his girlfriend. By having a celebrity rule the front page of the Mirror, this tabloid is attracting a larger audience than usual because many fans of Shane Richie will buy the paper for the sake of Richie in the paper. The headline also includes the word exclusive which assists this theory by saying only this newspaper has it and this is your only chance to grab it! In the times even the advertisements are expensive, one advertisement is for the best jewellers in New York! The advertisements in the mirror are far from glamorous, there is only a big, FREE sign in the top right hand corner, it promises a miniature i 2 free bet if you buy more than i 2 on sport clothing, not exactly free! But this advertisement really shows you the kind of people tabloids are aiming for, people who are interested in sports and betting. In the times, the front page is dominated by one extreme close-up picture, a face made up of the features of David Beckham and Johnny Wilkinson. This is unusual for a broadsheet, but understandable as its one of the most vivid week-ends of sport in history. Plus, the article on the two sports isnt very long, and the other articles are all about politics and education, these being very typical subjects of a broadsheet. The pictures on the mirror are very simple and are all of celebrities, this is to capture the readers attention and any fans of that particular star will be inclined to buy the newspaper if only for the reason of the celebrity. The photographs are all in very flattering light and pleasing positions, creating a better-looking celebrity than they really are, this also adds to the newspaper opinion. For example, one story on the front page is about Kieron Dyer and the charge of rape against him. It is clear from the picture alone that the mirrors opinion of the case is that Dyer is innocent. The image is a close up of his perplexed and sad looking face, the lighting is complimentary and his expression is one of a worried but innocent man. The mirror could easily of inserted a picture of Dyer looking angry and malicious, but the picture they chose suits the opinion of the story and the emotive language in the head line My rape case hell. In the Times there is only one picture, an extreme close up of David Beckham and Johnny Wilkinson, their faces split in half and carefully joined with the other. This is a very intellectual picture as you can barely tell it is actually two different people, it makes the reader look twice and it shows that even though the story is about sport, it reminds the reader that the newspaper is still a broadsheet and every story possesses an intelligent angle which causes the reader to think. In the Mirror, emotive language is used a great deal to convey their opinion strongly across to their readers, for example My rape Case Hell, this is about Kieron Dyers rape case against him. In the story it gives lots of opinions for Kieron Dyer, it also has a quote from Dyer himself, explaining how his reputation has been destroyed and how he had no involvement in the matter. It uses intense emotive language and only has the opinions of those for Kieron Dyer in the story. It mentions nothing of the girl who was raped nor any views for her case, this just goes to show how strong the opinions of newspapers can be and I wouldnt be surprised if many readers of the mirror believe these types of stories. Another problem with tabloid newspapers is often they exaggerate or completely focus of one side of the story so the other side looks completely non-existent. It is illegal for journalists to write something thats completely untrue, but they can easily get away with a lot in these ways. However broadsheets generally name both sides of the argument, but sometimes they give their opinions as all good journalists do. Alliteration is often used in newspapers as headlines; this creates rhythm and will often remain stuck in the readers head for the rest of the day. Newspapers use alliteration because phrases that have a sequence tend to stick in peoples minds and get passed through people, so soon pretty much everyone has at least heard the alliteration. An example of alliteration from a separate issue of The Mirror would be Dianas daring disguise. This alliteration would be sure to capture the readers attention and may even cause a little humour. Puns are used frequently in newspapers, especially tabloids. After writing this essay, and thinking thoroughly through each point I have made, Ive come to the conclusion that you are more likely to find pictures, advertisements and biased stories in a tabloid, it uses lots of different techniques to make it easy to read. The stories are easily found and the reader and recognise the main stories, whereas you can expect high quality stories and all the same techniques in broadsheet newspapers. However, the techniques used in a broadsheet are used in an indistinct way, so the readers have a choice as to what story they wish to read.

Straight Outta Compton Song Impact
Straight Outta Compton Song Impact People are usually get entertained by listening to music. These songs were either pop, rock, classical or Jazz. Listeners often select the kind of music depending on their preferences. Sometimes, they just like the sound while other love the lyrics. Musical composers create lyrics and melodies depending on the kind of message they want to express to their listeners. However, the message they want to impart may have a different meaning to its listeners. One good example is that song by an American hip-hop group N.W.A. called Straight Outta Compton song from the album of the same title. It is one of the most controversial songs created during its time. This paper analyzes Straight Outta Compton as well as its potential interpretations (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). Straight Outta Compton song represents the harsh realities of south central Los Angeles, such representation can produce a variety of interpretations, and most of them were unfavorable. The song Straight Outta Compton is the title track from the debut album of N.W.A.s debut album last 1988. The composer behind the song created the lyrics based on the lives of gangsters on the streets of a south central area of Los Angeles (Songfacts, 2010). The first three sentences introduced a person named Iced Cube from came from the black-American gangster group. The next five sentences suggest that the singer is carrying a gun and they can pull a trigger to injure other people. No one should mess with him, or he could be dangerous to deal with. The words being used were the typical terms used on gangster streets of Compton (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). The subsequent lyrics also suggested that their gangsters are the typical ones who like to rumble. The lyrics also mentioned that they could use ammunitions like AK47 and he would be forced to use it if anyone does something bad to him. In other words, if would be recommended to avoid those people that the song mentioned. They also mentioned profanity and sexism. The song did tell something about smoking and illegal possession of firearms. The sounds of the song also involved a police chasing the gangsters, indicating that they have violated laws many times. In some cases, they avoid trouble especially if they knew that the law enforcements were around. They do not avoid the law enforcements, but they just lie low (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). The people who created the song only said that they simply documented the happenings in the city of Compton. It also describes the characteristics of their musicians behind the song. Ice Cube explained direct interpretations of the song in his youtube video by Vanity Fair. Ice Cube mentioned that the sawed off also represents a metaphor knowledge. The sentences that suggest about murder rap and Charles Manson can be directly interpreted as Cubes rap will keep their listeners entertained, and he is also comparable to the cult leader/murderer Charles Manson of the Beach Boys (Ice Cube Responds to Rap Genius Interpretations of Straight Outta Compton 2015). The phrase out of the box indicates competition, musical charts or the winners circle. However, the lyrics also mentioned about daily, weekly and yearly and this implies that out of the box means musical charts. The sentence that starts with As I leave and then ends with Straight Outta Compton claims that after shooting house, he would stomp on the gas pedal and drive his car out of Compton City (Ice Cube Responds to Rap Genius Interpretations of Straight Outta Compton 2015). However, many people are interpreting it differently. For instance, they believe that the song glorifies the criminality through mentioning AK47 and something about killing. The first potential backlash is that the listeners may judge the song being the way of encouraging people to use firearms whether they acquire those arms illegally or legally. The song stated that they could use guns if they are pissed off indicating that if any people who not do any good towards them, it would be better to avoid them. Even though the word sawed off is a metaphor for knowledge, many people do not know about that. The rap song also has a catchy tune that may imply that using firearms illegally is okay as long as they can avoid the law enforcements (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). Another possible interpretation from other people is that the music encourages listeners to engage in weed smoking. The lyrics also mentioned that they smoke weed and since rappers are considered cool, the listeners might think that it is cool to smoke weed. When the song said that the people should duck in the area of Los Angeles, they might interpret that they should be careful while in the area. Because violence is a norm in that location, people especially who are not familiar with the location must be extremely careful and sometimes they might have to duck literally (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). The message is geared towards the listeners who love to rap and those who love hip-hop. However, because of violence and profanity, the song only targets adults. Nevertheless, adults could misinterpret the song especially if they are not aware of the genuine situation of the Los Angeles area. They would consider the song as a glorification of violence. However, if they live in the area, they would simply agree with the lyrics of the song as true (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). On the other hand, the children would interpret it differently and directly. They might learn that being a bully is cool since they may consider the singer as the bully. Bullies are the ones who initiate violence, and they will surely consider people behind the lyrics were initiators of violence. In the first place, they could get away with it if they can escape the law enforcements. Since the lyrics only mentioned smoke, the children might believe that it is socially acceptable to smoke, whether tobacco or weed. The children may interpret the song that it is acceptable to be avoided by many people. They may also consider using guns illegally as acceptable. Consequently, it would attract potential controversy especially for teachers and parents of young children and even teenagers. Personally, the song does not sound good since it highlights criminality and violence. Even though they do not intend to promote criminality as they simply document it, they still made violence sounds good through this song (NWA Straight Outta Compton, 2012). Conclusion Straight Outta Compton song represents the harsh realities of south central Los Angeles, such representation can produce a variety of interpretations, and most of them were unfavorable. The people who created the song only said that they simply documented the happenings in the city of Compton. It also describes the characteristics of their musicians behind the song. The message of the song is geared towards the listeners who love to rap and those who love hip-hop. Since it has profanity and violence, it only targets adults. Ice Cube even discussed their direct interpretations of the song. On the other hand, other people interpreted it differently. The children would interpret it differently and directly. They might learn that being a bully is cool since they may consider the singer as the bully. Even adults misinterpreted the song especially if they are not aware of the genuine situation of the Los Angeles area. They would consider the song as the glorification of violence. E-commerce :: essays research papers
What are the security risks associated with business-to-business e-commerce? In todayââ¬â¢s business world it is of utmost importance that we secure our businesses because they hold a lot of information of great importance. Business-to-business e-commerce is basically businesses that buy and sell from each other online. They also communicate with one another to build relations online. The security risk that I can see is that one of the two organizations may have poor or little security that may in turn cause other organizations that they are doing business online with to be exposed to viruses, bugs, trojans, etc. Also, customers, as well as, other businesses important information needs to be encrypted. Some employees may try to steal this information to use for their own personal gain or they might sell them to make a profit. Use short answers to explain the difference between: "X Availability and reliability Availability deals with network downtime. Most businesses want their networks to have high availability so that they donââ¬â¢t have any downtime because this can lead to profit and customer loss. Reliability deals with the network being consistent and dependable. Networks need to be able to keep running even when malfunctions or server attacks occur. "X Response time and throughput Response time is basically the time from when you click on the server to the time data appears on your screen. Throughput is basically the speed that it will take the information to transfer from point-to-point within the server. "X Throughput and bandwidth I was having a hard time on this one explaining the difference but I found a site that had some useful information: http://www.support.psi.com/support/common/networking/diff.html ââ¬Å"Bandwidth is a measure of potential rate that data can be transmitted over a network.â⬠ââ¬Å"Throughput is the actual speed data will transfer at from one point on the network to another.â⬠"X Delay and Jitter Delay is basically the time it takes for a packet to arrive at its destination and back in a network.
Smoke in the Air :: essays research papers
The Smoke in the Air Marijuana is probably the most debatable plant in history. It has been around for millennia in various forms and uses. However, itââ¬â¢s known mostly as a drug. In the Americas, its beginnings can be traced back almost 456 years when the Spanish first brought it with them in 1545 (Levinthal). Cannabis sativa or marijuana, as itââ¬â¢s commonly known, is commercially valuable in the production of hemp rope, crude cloth, twine, shoes, sailcloth and containers (Levinthal, Keese). Notably, marijuana can be also be utilized in the development of medicines to ease a number of modern-day aliments. In ancient times, it was considered a cash crop. In the 20th century, however, marijuana is looked upon more as a narcotic than a plant that has commercial potential. The beginnings of marijuana's political life in American history can be traced as far back as 1915, when marijuana prohibition started on a local and statewide level, mainly owing to anti-Mexican sentiments (Bonnie 1). From 1932 to 1937, national consciousness of marijuana was brought about by anti-marijuana campaigns funded by the federal authorities in support of the Uniform Narcotic Drug Act (Bonnie 1). This resulted in the passage of the Marijuana Tax Act. From then on marijuana hysteria escalated. The government enacted stiff penalties on most marijuana offenses, even simple possession (Bonnie 1). Marijuana possession became a felony in most states, until 1973, when Oregon became the first state to decriminalize marijuana. Since then the government has began to take a non-criminal approach towards discouraging marijuana use (Bonnie 1). Escalating marijuana consumption and its penetration in all levels of society, has forced every state to amend its penalties in some fashion or a nother (Bonnie 1). Today, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada and Washington have joined Oregon by decriminalizing marijuana (Central News Network). Those opposed to marijuana in the past have met fierce resistance from advocates for its decriminalization. The debate is rapidly becoming political. Marijuanaââ¬â¢s significance as a medicine is no longer an issue. The issue at present is whether or not the sanctions against marijuana are socially and economically viable to keep in place. As put by Richard J. Bonnie, author of Marijuana Use and Criminal Sanctions, "legislators must somehow 'weigh' the 'benefits' of criminal sanctions against their 'costs'" (16). Marijuana should be decriminalized in order to minimize the social, legal, and economical repercussions suffered by the American public. Marijuana sanctions are affecting the American public in three ways.

Compare and Contrast All Quiet on the Western Front and Dulce et Decoru
The poem "Dulce et decorum est" by Wilfred Owen has a lot In common with "All Quiet on the Western Front." By Erich Remarque although Remarque never fought in the 1st World War. The Imagery in the prose is more detailed as it has more time to describe everything "The fields are flat." Some people think that this is better and it gives it a bit more feeling. Were as in the poem, Owen uses lots of short hard hitting words such as "Obscene as cancer" The poem gives a much more immediate effect in a shorter space of time. The imagery in the poem is quick and dramatic. The titles of the pieces are ironic "All Quiet on the Western Front" and "dulce et Decorum est" which means it is fitting and right. In the Poem everything is tired in the first stanza "Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines" This is a hyperbole as bombs don't become tired. The whole of the war became a sluggish battle. It is also a slow pace to start with in the prose with men looking forward to getting back the huts for some rest. "I wish I were back home. Home - he means the huts" In the second Stanz...

Arthur Miller and the American Dream
As Voltaire once said, ââ¬Å"Each player must accept the cards life deals him or her: but once they are in hand, he or she alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game. â⬠Similarly, my grandfather compares people to decks of cards. He believes that for each person, different cards are missing from the deck, accordingly giving each person different abilities. In this example, fate is literally in the cards. Though an unsuccessful salesman, Willy Lomanââ¬â¢s infallible belief in his dream shows that he never considered the salesman card was ââ¬Å"missingâ⬠from his deck. The notion of the American dream falls back on the blind optimism and faith of Americans. In Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller, Willy Loman futilely chases the American dream, which is an unattainable, impossible fantasy to Miller, used to show the blind faith in Americans, and depicted as a character flaw rather than attribute in the protagonists of the play. To begin, the tone o f the novel set by Arthur Miller is a critical and cynical attitude towards the idea of the American dream.A widely accepted definition of the American dream is the perception that through hard work, one can achieve a life of personal and material happiness. Moreover, the representation of the American dream in the play is at odds with the general belief that hard work generates success. Willy tells his sons, ââ¬Å"Be liked and you will never wantâ⬠(33). If this were actually the case, his hard work combined with being well-liked would have been the recipe for personal and materialistic happiness.Though Willy Loman is constantly working, his obsession with the superficial qualities of being liked contrasts with the more tenacious and rewarding understanding of the American dream. Miller shows us just how unbelieving he is in the American dream when he wrote the plot of Death of a Salesman, in which the protagonists chase unattainable desires. Through Millerââ¬â¢s critical take on the American dream, he is trying to portray that Americans are blindly faithful and optimistic; Miller openly criticized such a principle. Happy says on page 23, ââ¬Å"Youââ¬â¢re a poet, you know that Biff?Youââ¬â¢re aââ¬âyouââ¬â¢re an idealist! â⬠Making Biff an idealistic, underachieving son of a daydreaming failure adds to the irony of the American dream in the play. Another example of the authorââ¬â¢s perspective was the way in which Miller suggests that the idea of the American dream hinders people from enjoying the success they have already achieved, in Willyââ¬â¢s case, having a loving family. The Lomans were optimistic during situations where it was unwarranted; their expectant approach to failure and disappointment is more proof of Arthur Millerââ¬â¢s disapproval of the American Dream.Because Arthur Miller believed the American Dream was chased in vain, he portrayed it as a character flaw rather than an attribute in the protagonists in th e play. Willy Loman, the protagonist (as well as his own antagonist), brought himself to his own demise when he could not discern his own life from his Dream. Millerââ¬â¢s antagonistic approach towards the various get-rich-quick dreams Biff, Happy, and Willy entertained also shined through at the impossibility of their execution. His hostility towards facets of the American mentality comes through in the self-destruction of Willy because of his all-consuming dream. For the same reason, Biffââ¬â¢s longing for the symbolically free West showed that Willy instilled his blind faith and materialistic desires in his sonââ¬â¢s dream as well. Biff asked Happy with enthusiasm, ââ¬Å"Listen why donââ¬â¢t you come out West with me? â⬠(23). Although intending to come to terms with his own life, Biffââ¬â¢s longing for the West is glorified by his fatherââ¬â¢s undying faith in his own Dream. Biff and Willy Lomanââ¬â¢s dependency on their fantasies show another, more neg ative, aspect to having dreams.Death of a Salesman is one of the foundational texts describing the American dream. Arthur Miller wrote the play in the mindset of an adversary to the American dream. Death of a Salesman displays Millerââ¬â¢s disapproval for the American dream and blind optimism, and displays chasing a dream as a weakness rather than a strength. In the play, Arthur Miller shows us that although it is important to teach of success, it is equally important to prepare for failure. In a game of cards, you can have all the strategy in the world, but fate is in the draw.

Little Miss Sunshine Family Assessment Essay
Introduction Family can be a source of support, comfort, optimism, love and happiness, but family can also be a cause of depression, betrayal, hurt and pain. Family is not always determined by the having the same DNA running through oneââ¬â¢s veins but it is the bond that people can have with one another. Family can consist of friends, co-workers, classmates, a community or a group of other people. Some family members can be the worst enemies because they have the most ammunition of secrets to bring a relative down. Being able to trust a person, depend on them, and be carefree is a person that can be valued as being a part of a family. In the movie Little Miss Sunshine, their dysfunctional family is loving, supportive, optimistic as well as motivating. The movie is filled with dark humor about a modern middle-class family that is about to encounter financial catastrophe but in the midst of their struggles they still find the beauty in life. In the opening of the movie Richard, the father is giving a motivational speech about winning, he states ââ¬Å"There are two types of people in this world, winners and losersâ⬠. Richard is a protagonist motivational speaker that is obsessed with winning. He is so consumed with achieving that he ridicules his family for not being perfect throughout the film. Sheryl is the mother who is an optimist, she is always giving words of encouragement even when Richard is trying to bring his family down and she is all about honest. Frank is the brother of Sheryl whom at the beginning attempts to commit suicide due to a broken heart and losing his standing as Americaââ¬â¢s pre-eminent Proust Scholar. Dwayne is the son of Richard and Sheryl and is committed to being in the air force. He is so committed that he takes a vow of silence until he gets into the air force, but then finds out he is colored blind and breaks his silence. Olive is another protagonist character in the film, she is t he daughter of Frank and Sheryl and has dreams ofà becoming a beauty queen. Grandpa is Oliveââ¬â¢s beauty queen pageant coach and is a late in life convert to heroine and porn, he eventually dies from a drug overdose. Main themes within the film are irony, issues of struggling to be perfect with the trials and set backs as a middle class family as well as exposing beauty pageants for little girls in America. Irony is a main theme in the movie because the roles each character plays contradicts who they are trying to be. Richard is all about motivating others to win and pushing his ââ¬Å"9 steps to Successâ⬠however ironically he is unsuccessful in his motivational speeches. In the opening scenes Richard is giving his ââ¬Å"9 Steps to Successâ⬠lecture to a class of no more than 4 or 5 students and his steps to success are denied because no one knows who he is. Oliveââ¬â¢s character also shows irony because she is an overweight, unfashionable 7 year old that is competing in glamor beauty pageants. Grandpa is in late adulthood but is acting as though he is in the stages of early adulthood by doing drugs instead of watching out for his health to prolong his life. Dwayne is showed to be working out and lifting at the beginning of the movie like as if he is a pro-athlete but is very slender and pale. Throughout the film the irony within each character and the masks they wore cha nged for the better. Issues of struggling in the film for this middle class family shows how they are on the verge of a financial catastrophe. Richard was so invested in his contract for his steps to success and depended on that source of income only to find out his contract was cancelled. The Hooverââ¬â¢s van breaks down multiple times and has many issues, such as the horn constantly honking. The family also did not have the money to go to California but made the trip anyway to chase Oliveââ¬â¢s dream that would may come true. Even after the pageant financial burdens await them with the transportation of grandpaââ¬â¢s corpse and the costs for a funeral. With all the struggles this family endures the characters ways of thinking changed into optimistic views of life. Little Miss Sunshine was the beauty pageant that Olive was competing in and when the family arrived they realized that the Olive did not contain theà glamor and elegance of the other contestants. This film displayed the process in which the little girls had to go through to fulfil the image of a beauty pageant queen. In the middle of the film Olive orders ice cream for breakfast and Richard lectures her about her way of eating and that beauty pageant winners do not eat ice cream so that way they can look thin and win. During the pageant Olive shows her talent of dancing and the judges are offended, the crowd is disgusted and the host of the pageant attempts to get her off stage all because she does not fulfill the image of what society says a beauty pageant contestant should look like. But after Oliveââ¬â¢s performance Richard then compliments her for doing such a great job and that her grandpa would have been proud of her. Richard realizes that his daughter is who she is and is proud to know that she tries her best in all she does and enjoys herself. Assessing the family one can determine that they have yet to achieve homeostasis. The family system as a whole shows that they are unable to maintain a stable constant state of balance financially however they are able to achieve this with their family structure. An example of the strong structure in this family system is having dinner with everyone present at the table, even Dwayne though he holds his vow of silence. Boundaries within the family system are set by Richard and most of the time it is him against everyone else. Subsystems include the brother Frank, the children Olive and Dwayne and grandpa. Each member has a role to play where Sherylââ¬â¢s role is the most important because she is matriarch of the family, she is what holds the family together with her optimism and encouragement. There is a strong relationship between Olive and Dwayne, when Dwayne breaks down after finding out he is color blind Olive is there to comfort him same with Dwayne being there for Olive when she is getting ridiculed onstage at the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. The parents however seem to be on the brink of a divorce due to the constant arguments, if financial burdens get any tougher it may break their marriage. The family is experience negative entropy, each member is growing and developing. Frank who was at first suicidal is giving Dwayne advice about life. Richard is realizing that life is not all about winning but seeing the beauty in loving his family for who they are and what they do. When questioning the family, concerns would be whether or not Frank is still at risk of suicide? Has Frank identified the immediate problem that is causing excessive stress? He is suffering from a broken heart and due to that he is losing everything else around him because the man before is overshadowing his family, his goals, and his future. Has Frank identified any strengths that he still has? This question is asked because he is depressed about losing his job and as well as his standing as Americaââ¬â¢s pre-eminent Proud Scholar. Frank does show some signs of depression, he has a made a previous attempt, and he has no spouse. According to the SAD PERSONS scale Frank as a client may be considered for hospitalization though he has an amazing support system with his family.(344).
